Helping women lead themselves first

How to Build Consistency That Lasts

Why I stopped setting New Year’s Resolutions and what I do instead

I’m not setting a New Year’s resolution this year.

Honestly, I cannot remember a single resolution I actually stuck to, unless it was completed within the first two weeks of January. After that, the excitement fades. The “fresh start” energy wears off. And suddenly, the New Year feels exactly like the old one.

Motivation drops.
Life keeps happening.
And the resolution quietly disappears.

This isn’t a personal failure it is a system problem.

Resolutions rely heavily on motivation, and motivation is unreliable. It is emotional. It comes and goes and when your growth depends on how motivated you feel, consistency becomes impossible.

That’s why I choose systems instead.

Why Systems Work When Motivation Doesn’t

Systems create structure.
Structure creates consistency.
And consistency is what actually creates change.

A system does not require you to feel inspired every day. It supports you on the days you’re tired, overwhelmed, or unsure. It gives you something to return to when life interrupts your plans which it always will.

Most importantly, systems do not wait for January 1st.

A system starts the moment you decide you’re ready to lead yourself differently.

And since we are already in January, why not start now?

Leading Yourself With Intention, Not Pressure

This month, my focus is on helping women build a strong foundation for self-leadership. Not through rigid rules or unrealistic expectation, but through clarity, structure, and trust in yourself.

When you lead yourself with intention instead of motivation:

  • You stop starting over every year

  • You build habits that support your goals

  • You learn how to stay grounded even when things feel uncomfortable

Self-leadership is not about doing more.
It is about doing what matters—consistently.

This month I am releasing a FREE eBook about Self Leadership!
